Love's ShadowLove's Shadow by Nichole Van
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
Source: Received eBook to Review
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Book Description:  Branwell D'Angelo . . .
Six years ago, I fell in love with Lucy--my brother's girlfriend. Stupid of me, I know, but sometimes the heart doesn't listen to reason.
Six years, I've lived on the sidelines. Seeing him love her, be with her, bask in her sunshine . . .
I watched her break his heart and then cleaned up the shattered pieces of him she left behind.
She's the one woman I can't have but still the only one my soul wants.
Now she's back in our lives and needs the unique help only us D'Angelos can give.
He's not emotionally strong enough to face her. So he's sending me instead . . .

For her part, when tragedy strikes Lucy Snow on a visit to Italy, she can't bring herself to call any of the D'Angelo brothers for help. There are consequences for falling in love with your ex-boyfriend's brother. But Lucy desperately needs Branwell's paranormal skills and his gift of Sight. And if seeing him will negate at least three years of therapy? Well, it's a price she is willing to pay.

Thrown together in a desperate bid to save an innocent life, Branwell and Lucy struggle against their shared past, only to realize that something even more dangerous is reaching through the weight of time to stalk their every move . . .

Though the second book in the Brothers Maledetti series, Love'sShadow is a full-length, standalone novel.

My thoughts; I didn't realize that this was the second book in a series. I didn't feel lost in the story, but I think I could have benefited by reading this book after the first.

This was a very interesting book. I was pulled in right from the start. It was easy to get caught up in the characters and the plot. The characters are relatable. They are well written and genuinely good people. It was easy to like them.

The book has a paranormal plot. The triplet brothers have psychic abilities that help them with the disappearance of a young girl. They are brought into a paranormal/demonic mystery. It is intriguing to see where Nichole Van takes it and how she describes it. Any way that I try to describe it will not give it justice. It's something that you need to read for yourself.

The romance is sweet. For most of the story the couple are afraid to show or express their feelings because of the history they share. They are afraid of hurting another, so believe that it is best to not reveal their feelings. It is really sweet how they show compassion to each other and the deep friendship between them.

I found the story to be well written. I couldn't have asked for more in the pacing or descriptions. I stayed up past my bedtime to finish the book, even though I knew I had an early morning. I can't say that I regret that decision. It was worth the lack of sleep.

Now, I feel the need to read the first book. I want to know more about the triplets and their abilities.
