Book Description:  Stop spending a fortune on takeout and bring the delicious flavors of Thai food into your own kitchen. With a tantalizing variety of curries, pad thai, and all your other favorites to try, this book takes the mystery out of Thai food preparation so you can enjoy those fresh and exotic flavors any day of the week.

My thoughts:  I love this cookbook! My family loves Thai food.    My husband served an LDS mission to Thailand, I got my ring in a Thai restaurant.  Thai food plays a huge role in my family. :)

I was very excited to receive a copy of this book to review.  There are so many recipes that I want to try to make.  So far I have made 3 of the recipies and they were sooooo good.   I had my husband flip through the pages and pick out what he wanted me to make and he commented that it appears the author knows her Thai food.

I haven't tried to make my favorite Thai dish yet, Fresh Spring Rolls (pg 14).  I need to visit an asian market to get the ingredients.  The recipes that I was able to make have ingredients that I was able to pick up at my local grocery store.  I didn't find the wide rice noodles, so I used the thinner noodles on one recipe (Pad Seeiew pg 59), but it still was delicious.

Satay, Curry, Pad Seeiew, peanut sauce, vinegar cucumbers, and rice.

Here is a picture of my first attempt at homemade Thai food.  The Chicken Satay (pg 17) is without skewers.  I also attempted Peanut Sauce and Vinegar Cucumbers.  In my opinion, and my families, the meal was a success.  I'm positive that I will be using this cookbook frequently!

The food shown here, except the Satay, is only half of the food made.  Each recipe makes a lot of food.  If your family is smaller, I would recommend only doing 1/2 of the recipe.

About the Author:  June V. Williamson was born in a little northeastern town of Udorn, Thailand. When she was 7 years old, her mother met, fell in love, and married an American Air Force officer. This was the beginning of her military life of living back and forth from America to Thailand being exposed to the native Thai life for 9 years. However, those years were deliciously profound. Thai food had been infused into her by Thai street vendors and her Thai mother. She is now back to living in another beautiful little town, but in Utah with her husband and 5 children.
