Book Review ~ "The Assumption of Guilt" by Amanda Tru

The Assumption of GuiltThe Assumption of Guilt by Amanda Tru
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Source: Received from author
Genre: Christian Suspense/Romance

Book Description from Amazon:  Nobody stops to think what it would be like to be arrested. That just doesn’t happen to normal people, right?

When a major theft happens at a party she’s attending, Sophie James finds herself the prime suspect. Has she been framed or was she just in the wrong place at the wrong time? Now Sophie must convince the police, along with her cop boyfriend, that she’s innocent. With no record, no motive, and no evidence, that shouldn’t be difficult.

Then why does no one seem to believe her?

My thoughts:  This book was not what I was expecting. Amanda Tru has thrown some twists into this story which add depth and interest.

Sophie works for an attorney. She is attending a party for him when she is arrested for stealing a diamond. The problem is that she willingly submitted to being searched before leaving the premises and to the astonishment of all, the diamond is found in her purse.

This is a wonderful "who done it" novella. Amanda has done a spectacular job of setting the plot and characters in a way that when you find the ending, will stun you. I was stunned. It was great to be taken completely by surprise.

You can read this book in an hour or less. It's perfect when you need something to read that is good, but don't have the time for a big book.
