Experience Dark Eden through an App

Dark Eden is a new experience by author Patrick Carmen.  This book explores fears and phobias and being sent to a place overcome them.  It is a YA  book to be released on November 1st and it looks to be very intriguing. It has a dark and mysterious feel to the trailer and the book cover.

There is an  app that can be used on an iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad or an Android.  It is introductory and free at this point.  You can go to http://enterdarkeden.com/video/the-dark-eden-app/ and check out how the application works.  In fact, I just installed it onto my iPhone and look forward to being able to play with it a little bit and finding out about the story.

Here is the SynopsisFifteen-year-old Will Besting is sent by his doctor to Fort Eden, an institution meant to help patients suffering from crippling phobias. Once there, Will and six other teenagers take turns in mysterious fear chambers and confront their worst nightmares—with the help of the group facilitator, Rainsford, an enigmatic guide. When the patients emerge from the chamber, they feel emboldened by the previous night's experiences. But each person soon discovers strange, unexplained aches and pains. What is really happening to the seven teens trapped in this dark Eden?

The trailer also looks interesting:

I thought this to be very inventive and a great way to engage teens into the world of reading.  Maybe by getting the free app it will build anticipation into a reluctant reader.  I know that I have a few of those at my house and I am excited to see if this will help my sons.
